Beginning

Beginning

Where am I now?  When I can answer this question through direct experience I begin to exist in a different way.  I AM here, now.  The more I AM here, now, the more my existence becomes richer and multidimensional.  There is an infinite amount I can experience in this present moment, and the more I experience, the more I AM.

Where I am now is the only place I can begin from.  From here I can submit to the present moment and allow myself to expand infinitely.  This moment is the starting place for my spiritual journey.  Since it is so easy to lose a direct connection from where I am now, I have to keep coming back to the present moment in order to be on a spiritual path.  I lose myself back into thought, feeling, sensations, which limits my existence to one dimension.

Too many of us are complacent with a one dimensional experience of life and even if we believe in a spiritual path, we more often live with the vague memory of it and we don’t submit fully to it in the present moment.  This gives us the illusion of being conscious people, or spiritual people, in the Work, etc.  The illusion we have from this vague memory prevents us from really growing spiritually and we end up spending most of our life growing only in a one dimensional way.  We may belong to spiritual groups, have a regular meditative practice, pray, etc., but we remain the same with the same limitations unless we can submit to the present moment and begin our journey from where I AM, now, each moment.

Growing in a one dimensional way is OK if that is all we want to achieve in life.  If we aspire to serving humanity, God, or attaining enlightenment, heaven, or completion we have a lot of development to undertake so that we refine our selves to the degree where we become an instrument for higher energies to manifest.  Every time we open our awareness in this present moment there is a cumulative effect and we are enabled to expand more into the endless endlessness of being.

From here, we can open to creative energies.  If we include our bodies in our awareness of the present moment, the creative energies start to accumulate in our nervous system and our sensory and extrasensory experiences intensify.  If we include our breathing as part of our present moment each breath can vivify our nervous system and expand the depth of consciousness.  If we include the vibrations we receive from our senses, with the awareness of breath we vivify our experience to a degree where the world becomes magical, mystical, and abundant.  Our yearning for spirituality turns into a great love for everything, and love permeates our physical existence.

We have to face the question “what do I want in life.”  If we want a spiritual life we have to ask ourselves “am I willing to submit to this present moment?”  How often can I come back to this?
