God the Whole and God the Essence
Everything that exists and the source that all existence emanates from are both aspects of God. Humans have the unique potential of consciously realizing the unification of both of these aspects. We are all parts of God, but we don’t have the conscious awareness of God the Essence or the non-dimensional point everything issues from. Working toward this awareness is our work toward completion as individuals.
The biggest mistake we make is assuming we know the meaning of the word “God” through intellectual descriptions we have heard without trying to discover the meaning for ourselves. When we start looking we often look for a God in the sky rather than within ourselves. God the Essence permeates God the Whole and therefore can be found everywhere and in everything. The simplest place to find it is within ourselves.
There are many meditative and spiritual practices that are useful in this searching process. All inner work brings us closer. In order to get the benefit of the cumulative effect of all these kinds of efforts, it is important for us to establish a disciplined approach where a certain amount of our daily time is dedicated to it.
If we see that what we receive from these kinds of practice brings us more consciousness and unconditional love, it is easier to decide that it is important enough for us to dedicate time for these practices. We as individuals working toward our completion are a small part of a larger task of the same kind of completion for the majority of humanity. Only humans can complete creation to the level where most humans are acting as the eyes, hands, and feet of God – improving the quality of life on this planet.
